Take care of your body, so it can take care of you.
You do tricks on both sides, complete your conditioning, and train multiple times a week, but when was the last time you took a moment to really slow down and tend to yourself? As we fly through the air and make the impossible look easy, it’s easy to forget that our bodies need rest, nourishment, and tenderness. Through yoga flow, somatic movement, muscle release, rest, and reiki, this workshop will provide all the tools you need to take care of your body so that it can take care of you — on the ground & in the air. All are welcome : )
Lain Kienzle (they/them) is a Brooklyn-based yoga teacher & aerialist. Lain came to yoga after years of feeling disembodied & disempowered. Thanks to many generous, inspiring teachers, Lain’s practice has become a space for them to feel strong, graceful, and held. That’s the gift they hope to pass on to students. Through challenging yet accessible flows, self-massage, practical mobility, tender rest, and reiki, Lain loves creating space for however students show up. They completed their 200-hour training at Shambhala Yoga & Dance and their Reiki Certification with Heather Sanderson.
As an aerialist, Lain has been training hammock/sling for two years, and recently took up dance trapeze. Usually, they perform delightfully weird character pieces, but sometimes you can catch them exploring more tender subjects in their work. Performance venues include The Slipper Room, CirqueHaus Open Stage, Aerial Arts, and Om Factory.
No matter the medium, Lain loves making people feel seen & strong. Their greatest joy is bringing a little more ease and fun to others’ lives.
